Accountants in practice

The company's tax return software, Tax Personal, was launched the year before self assessment arrived - and went on to sell more than 250,000 copies to individuals.

Among the purchasers of Tax Personal were a large number of accountants and it was pressure from this group which eventually led to the development of Tax Professional specifically for their use.

From there it was a logical step in business terms into developing a full suite of applications to allow accountants to computerise the compliance aspects of their business.
